ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Khalid Khan Khattak has been given the charge of national coordinator of National Counter-Terrorism Authority (Nacta).
The post fell vacant after recent appointment of Muhammad Tahir Rai as the director general of National Police Bureau. Mr Khattak is the senior-most officer posted at Nacta.
He was holding the post of member of Counter Terrorism, Nacta. A career police officer who joined Police Service of Pakistan in November, 1995, Mr Khattak has 29 years of policing experience having served at federal and provincial levels both in field and on staff assignments.
During his career, he has served on different portfolios including sub-divisional officer, district police officer, ministry of interior and staff officer/principal staff officer with inspector general of police and commanded districts in the field.
He remained additional director of white-collar crimes & immigration directorate at Federal Investigation Agency and also served as director of Anti-Narcotics Force in three directorates: International Cooperation (IC), Assets & Financial Investigation (AFI), and Planning & Development (P&D). He also served as the capital police chief.
