TOBA TEK SINGH: Police allegedly conducted a raid on the house of PTI MNA Saadullah Khan Baloch at Kanjwani in Tandlianwala late on Tuesday night, to arrest him for “electricity theft” but failed as the lawmaker was not present there.
PTI sources deny the charge and alleged that during the raid police personnel broke the gate of the opposition MNA’s house, who was got elected from NA-103, Tandlianwala, Faisalabad.
They also alleged that the raiding police team also ransacked the furniture in Mr Baloch’s house, damaged his car and detained three maids working there.
However, police sources claim that a case had been registered by Madina Town police against the PTI lawmaker for allegedly stealing electricity by tampering with the meter installed at his residence, on the complaint of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Wajid Ali.
Another party lawmaker booked on similar charge
Meanwhile, a similar case was also registered against PTI MNA Ali Afzal Sahi, who was elected from NA-95, Chak Jhumra, for power theft on the complaint of SDO Adeel on Tuesday.
TWO DIE: A mobile phone shop owner died on Wednesday after his car was hit by a tractor-trolley near Adda Pul Baggar Sargana on Kabirwala-Khanewal Road.
As per police, Raees Ahmad, who ran a mobile phone shop at Abdul Hakeem, was on his way to Kabirwala in his car when it was hit by a tractor-trolley.
As a result, he was critically injured and was shifted to the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, where he succumbed to his wounds.
Meanwhile, an Elite Force Constable Aqib Naroo died and his cousin Saleem Naroo was critically injured when their motorcycle collided with another bike near Hasni Chowk at Kacha Khu, Khanewal.
Police say Aqib Naroo was shifted to the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, where he succumbed to his injuries, while Saleem Naroo was being treated at Khanewal DHQ Hospital.
