ISLAMABAD: Robbers looted over Rs2 million cash in three separate strikes in capital, police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident a gang robbed a man of Rs1.4million in Noon police area, they said, adding that the incident took place when Ch Atif Hussain left from his house along with the amount and when reached EMI College, two robbers came on a motorcycle and intercepted him.

They held him up at gunpoint, the police said, adding that shortly they looted the cash from him and escaped.

In another incident, four robbers made off with Rs600,000 from a mobile shop located in the limits of Secretariat Police Station, they said.

The incident took place at Khayber Mobile Shop owned by Samiullah at Bari Imam Chowk, the police said, adding that four persons came to the shop and three of them held the shopkeeper and three other persons at gunpoint.

The fourth person carrying a bag entered the shop and collected Rs630,000 from the cash counter, they said, adding that the gunmen also manhandled the shopkeeper and three other persons and later all the robbers escaped while firing in the air.

Moreover, a gang of three robbers raided a pharmacy in D-17 and made off with Rs100,000 cash and mobile phones, they said.
