SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The Mehsud tribesmen ended a four-day-long sit-in in Chagmalai area of Sarwekai tehsil here against the police for violating their right to privacy during raids on the assurance of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Asif Mehsud that their legitimate demands would be met.

The protesting Mehsud Jalakhel tribesmen demanded the transfer of SHO Ashiq Elahi and other policemen, withdrawal of FIRs lodged against the people of Chagmalai village and payment of compensation to the family of a person injured during a police raid.

MPA Asif Mehsud held talks with the protesters, ensuring them that their legitimate demands would be accepted.

Later, Upper South Waziristan district police officer Malik Habib Khan visited the house of the injured person and provided him with compensation money.
