KARACHI: Mr Yusuf Abdullah Haroon, Sind Premier, tendered the resignation of his Cabinet at 11-30 A.M. on Monday [Nov 7] to H.E. Din Mohammad, the Governor. Having been asked by the Governor to assist him in selecting new ministers, Mr Yusuf Haroon formed a new cabinet of five men half-an-hour later. A sixth minister may be sworn in today [Nov 8].

Of his four colleagues in the previous Ministry Mr Haroon kept only Syed Miran Mohammad Shah in the new Cabinet. The other three, belonging to what is known as the Khuhro Group, were dropped out. They were Kazi Fazlullah, Mir Bundeh Ali Khan Talpur and Syed Noor Mohammad Shah. The new comers are Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur, Haji Moula Buksh Soomro and Mr Rahim Buksh Soomro. — Staff correspondent

[Meanwhile, according to news agencies in Kabul,] King Mohammad Zahir Shah of Af­­g­hanistan has approved the creation of a High Council of State, according to Bakhtiar, the official Afghan news agency. The Presi­dent of the Council will be the Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Sardar Shah Mahmoud Khan. Simultaneously, the King has approved a reconstruction of the Afghan Cabinet.
