ISLAMABAD: Acting president Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in separate messages on the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal urged the nation to renew its commitment to follow the philosophy and teachings of the ideological founder of Pakistan, and work for unity, peace and prosperity.

In his message, the acting president called for embodying Iqbal’s ideals amid continued strides for building a better future for the country. He said the nation pay tribute to the services and legacy of the Pakistan’s national poet, whose vision and thoughts kindled the spirit of independence among Muslims of the Subcontinent.

He said Iqbal’s message emphasised values of Islam, advocating for spiritual and cultural revival. “Iqbal’s poetry and philosophy remain a testament to his intellectual brilliance and spiritual depth.

Through masterpieces like Asrar-i-Khudi (Secrets of the Self), Rumuz-i-Bekhudi (Mysteries of Selflessness), and Bang-i-Dara (The Call of the Marching Bell), he explored identity, spirituality, and the pursuit of freedom. His words continue to resonate, inspiring generations worldwide with a powerful blend of philosophical insight and poetic beauty,“ the acting president mentioned.

While addressing an event to celebrate Allama Iqbal’s birth anniversary, PM Shehbaz Sharif motivated the youth and children to remain resolute in their ambition to achieve a glorious future for the nation.

He paid tribute to Iqbal’s enduring philosophical contributions, which, he noted, continue to inspire global leadership, determination, and hard work. He encouraged the youth to embrace Iqbal’s ideals to help steer the country towards a prosperous future.
