DERA GHAZI KHAN: Katcha area gangster Umar Lund who had allegedly killed most-wanted criminal Shahid Lund of the Lund gang over some domestic dispute on Friday night, surrendered himself to the Rajanpur police on Saturday.

Reports from Chak Bailay Shah (Bangla Ichha police circle) on Friday night had suggested that Umar was also killed in retaliatory fire by Shahid’s accomplices.

Umar Lund apparently surrendered for fear of losing his life.

A source in Rajanpur police claimed that police had given Umar a task to kill Shahid. He said Rojhan DSP Qaiser Hasnain Shah had taken Umar Lund into protective custody.

The DSP did not return the phone calls and text messages by this correspondent.

Shahid Lund was killed in firing at Mauza Chak Bailay Shah when he and other top gangsters had assembled there to settle a matrimonial issue in the clan.

Wanted in 28 criminal cases involving attacks on police and kidnap for ransom, Shahid Lund carried a bounty of Rs10 million. He was known for his social media presence on TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.
