ISLAMABAD: SSP Operations Mohammad Arsalan Shahzaib on Sunday claimed that the police had arrested six suspects involved in recent robbery and murder cases.

Speaking at a press conference at the Rescue-15 office, SSP Shahzaib said in recent days, four suspects had committed a robbery at a mobile shop within the jurisdiction of Secretariat police station.

In another incident, an elderly man was found dead in the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu police station.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi took strict notice of these incidents and formed special teams under the supervision of DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, the SSP Operations said.

“These teams worked tirelessly and with the help of modern investigative methods, tracked down and arrested the four accused involved in the Bari Imam market mobile shop robbery within the timeframe of just 48 hours,” the SSP said.

He further said on November 3, the body of an elderly man was found with his throat slit in the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu area.

“The police team arrested two accused who confessed to killing the elderly man in an attempt to seize his money before fleeing the scene, the SSP said.
