TOBA TEK SINGH: A nine-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two youths in Chak 203 RB in Samundri, Faisalabad.

The Mureedwala police registered a case under section 375-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). According to the FIR, the complainant claimed her daughter was lured by the two suspects to an outhouse belonging to a third accomplice.

Police say after the assault, the alleged rape survivor was dropped near her home and the suspect reportedly threatened to harm her if she revealed the incident.

A press release from CPO Kamran Adil said both suspects have been arrested and the girl has been shifted to Samundri THQ Hospital for a medical examination.

SMOG ACCIDENT: In an accident caused by poor visibility due to smog, a motorcyclist died after colliding with a tractor trolley near Chak 705 GB on Sindhillianwali Road at Kamalia.

According to Rescue 1122, 35-year-old Mohsin Raza from Chak 713 GB was on his way home when the accident occurred. In a similar incident on Mureedwala Road in Gojra, 20-year-old motorcyclist Amer Ghaffar of Oddan Wali Basti was injured after his motorcycle collided with a tractor trolley.

He was rushed to Gojra THQ Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Also, a tractor trolley driver was killed when his vehicle overturned on a single-lane road near Chak 293 JB Bhangan.

Reports said that the deceased, Mohsin, 40, was travelling on the link road when he lost control due to poor visibility. The vehicle overturned, and he was crushed under it. His body was discovered hours later by a passerby who alerted Rescue 1122.

In a related incident, Anam Bibi, a girl injured in an earlier smog-induced accident on Saturday that claimed the lives of her mother and brother, succumbed to her injuries at Faisalabad Allied Hospital.

OBITUARY: Prof Mian Arshad Mahmood, the retired principal of the Government Postgraduate College, Toba, passed away after a prolonged illness on Saturday night.

Scores of people attended his funeral, and he was laid to rest in his ancestral village, Chak 393 JB Khan Pur.

FARMER KILLED: A farmer was killed and another seriously injured in crossfire between two rival groups in Chak 44 GB in the jurisdiction of Tirkhani police, Faisalabad.

Reports said the groups were embroiled in a longstanding farmland dispute. The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Muhammad Amjad, while the injured Saeed Ahmad, 34, was shifted to Allied Hospital for treatment.

ARFA KAREEM: The father of the late Arfa Karim Randhawa, retired Col Amjad Karim Randhawa met with Commissioner Silwat Saeed on Sunday.

He presented her a book on the life of Arfa Karim, the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional in the world.

Commissioner Saeed paid tribute to Arfa’s contributions to IT, stating that steps are being taken to promote her legacy among students. Efforts are underway to develop Faisalabad as an IT city and establish a university in her honour.

INJURED: Two labourers were critically injured when a large section of earth collapsed on them while they were digging a building foundation near Roshanwala Bypass Road in Faisalabad on Sunday evening.

After extensive efforts, rescuers managed to free the men from the 10-foot-deep trench. They were identified as Sajjad, 26, and Arsalan, 28, both of Chak 257 RB.
