TAXILA: Attock Saddar police on Sunday resolved a blind murder case of a woman and arrested her brother who confessed to stoning to death his married sister over a property dispute.

The police spokesman said some passerby had spotted the body of a woman lying in a pool of blood in the corn fields near Sarka village on Oct 29.

The woman was later identified as Gul Meena who lived in Karachi and had come to her native town to meet her parents. Police had registered a murder case against unknown assailants and launched an investigation.

During the investigation, the police team led by Station House Officer Khanzada Sheroze took the deceased woman’s brother into custody who confessed to having stoned his sister to death after she demanded her share in the property. The suspect was sent behind bars.
