Swabi teachers demand pay raise as per inflation

SWABI: Provincial president of Malgari Ustazan Amjid Khan expressed concern over undue criticism by some quarters over teachers’ genuine demand for increase in pay packages.

He stated here on Sunday that whenever there was a call for public sector workers to receive more pay or other forms of assistance, it was claimed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was experiencing a financial crisis. However, when it came to expanding the benefits and privileges of cabinet members and other lawmakers, there was no problem.

Amjid Khan and other leaders stated at a gathering that a week ago, the KP Assembly passed a bill that allowed a minister to receive Rs 1 million to renovate the house they were given to buy carpets, curtains, air conditioners, and refrigerators.

These were all luxury items, and they indicated that lawmakers of a poor nation were living in luxury.

Additionally, he stated that a minister might earn Rs 200,000 a month if he lived in a private residence, whereas the rent for a public sector home was only Rs 2000.

According to Amjid Khan, the Supreme Court justices’ housing rent had gone up from Rs 68,000 to Rs 350,000, and a judge would now receive Rs 282,000 more than they did before.

In his FIR, Mohammad Siyar Khan stated that he and his brother Adil Khan, 25, were on way to home. He claimed that accused Rahimullah and his sons, Naseer Khan and Yasir Khan intercepted them and opened fire, killing his brother Adil Khan on the spot, and he remained unhurt in the firing.

He stated that the victim and the accused had a fight prior to the occurrence, which was the cause of the animosity. Police began an investigation.
