GUJRAT: The body of a man who had allegedly been kidnapped on Sunday, along with his wife and two daughters, was found on the bank of Upper Jhelum Canal near Jani Chak village in Dinga police precincts.

Meanwhile, the police on Monday claimed to have recovered the abducted members of his family, arresting the main kidnappers.

As per police, around a dozen men, including Tariq, Asjad and Banaris, barged into the house of Talib Hussain at Chakora village and started beating him with clubs and iron rods.

The suspects then bundled the man, his wife Sameera, and daughters Aliya (5) and Aroosh (2) into a vehicle and fled the scene. They also took away a motorcycle-rickshaw of Talib, whose body was found on Sunday.

The police shifted the body to the Kharian THQ Hospital, where doctors conducted autopsy and handed it over to the family.

A case was registered against nine nominated and four unidentified suspects under sections 302, 395, 201, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the report of Arslan Ali, brother of the deceased.

A spokesman for Gujrat police told Dawn that the widow and minor daughters of the slain man had been recovered and at least three main suspects had also been arrested.

He said as per initial investigation, the suspects had a property dispute with the deceased.
