ISLAMABAD: The ambassador of Turkiye Irfan Neziroglu on Monday held separate meetings with housing and finance ministers and showed interest in further strengthening bilateral relations in multiple sectors between the two countries.

In a meeting with the Federal Minister for Housing Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, the ambassador expressed his strong desire to engage in bilateral and even trilateral relations with Pakistan.

He mentioned about TOKi, the housing administration of republic of Türkiye that was established in 1984 to solve housing problems of low- and middle-income strata of society.

While underscoring the experience sharing programmes, he showed utmost willingness to contribute in housing sector of the country.

The minister welcomed Ambassador Neziroglu, and said that Türkiye is so close to their hearts. We have centuries old deep cultural and historical ties between two countries. He recalled his pleasant memories during his official visits to Türkiye and expressed gratitude for unwavering support of Türkiye for Pakistan at international fora.

Minister stressed the need for deepening cooperation in trade and investment. He said that housing is the top priority of this government.

Minister Pirzada said that Pakistan had profitable prospects in housing sector.

In a separate meeting with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Aurangzeb,various aspects of historical and longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, particularly the growing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and defense were discussed.

The minister highlighted the historical and fraternal bonds and the great potential for enhancing the current volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Türkiye.

He also recalled his meeting with Mr Mehmet imek, Türkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister, in Washington DC on the sidelines of the World Bank Group/IMF annual meetings last month.

He said Pakistan could learn from Türkiye’s experience of power sector reforms and invited Turkish firms to enter into mutually beneficial joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts, particularly in the field of information technology and agriculture.

Ambassador Neziroglu expressed his appreciation for the economic reforms and the resultant macroeconomic stability in Pakistan. He assured his full commitment and support for further strengthening the ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Denmark Shoaib Sarwa also met the Finance Minister at Finance Division.

During the meeting, various aspects of bilateral ties and ways for further enhancing cooperation and collaborations in the field of trade and commerce between Pakistan and Denmark were discussed. The Minister highlighted the role of Pakistani diaspora in the socio-economic uplift of Pakistan.

Ambassador Shoaib Sarwar apprised the minister about the current state of bilateral ties and the scope and opportunities for further business ventures and collaborations. He also highlighted the role of Pakistani expatriates settled in Demark for strengthening bilateral ties and promoting commerce and cultural exchanges between both the countries.
