NAROWAL: A 30-year-old woman was killed by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law over a domestic dispute in tehsil Daska of district Sialkot on Tuesday.

The body of the victim was sealed in a sack and disposed of into a drain.

Shabbir Ahmed, a resident of Kot Mund, district Gujranwala, complained to the police that his daughter Zara Bibi, 30, was married to Qadeer Ahmed, a resident of Kotli Meeran, tehsil Daska, four years ago. Qadeer was living abroad for employment. Shabbir said when he called his daughter two days back, he found her mobile phone switched off. After being concerned, he went to meet his daughter at her in-laws in village Kotli Meeran but found that she was not home while her in-laws expressed ignorance of her whereabouts.

Shabbir alleged that Zara’s mother-in-law and her sister-in-law used to torture his daughter.

Motra Police Station registered an FIR against Yasmin Bashir, Sughran Naseer, Saba Jameel, Qasim Jameel and Abdullah on the request of Shabbir Ahmed.

During the investigation, police received information that a body was found in a sewage drain. It was later identified to be of Zara who was killed and her body was dismembered by the killers. The parts of the body were sealed in a sack and thrown into the drain. No arrest was made in the case yet.

Malik Waqas Ali, the spokesperson for Sialkot police, said police were investigating the incident from different angles and the suspects would be arrested soon.
