LAHORE: A man allegedly tortured his wife to death over domestic issues in Shafiqabad here on Tuesday.

The police inquiries suggested that suspect Mudassar first subjected Ayesha to torture and then strangled her at his home.

The police arrested the suspect and lodged a case against him on the complaint of deceased woman’s brother who told the police that Mudassar used to beat up his wife over petty matters.

Some days back she left the home and went to her parents.

On Tuesday, he said, she again came back to her husband when Mudassar assured her parents that he would not take law into his hands.

As the parents of Ayesha went back, they came to know that she has allegedly been murdered.

ARRESTED: Lower Mall police claim to have arrested a suspect who allegedly killed a minor girl and threw her body in a drain.

Identified as Aralan, the suspect confessed to his crime and took the police to the drain where he dumped the body of the girl.

The police have launched a search for the recovery of the girl’s body.

A police official said the girl was allegedly kidnapped some three weeks back and a case was lodged against unidentified persons. He said the police took Arsalan into custody over suspicion.

During interrogation, he told the police that he kidnapped and killed the girl as he had a grudge against her maternal uncle.
