Admin to set up 100 playgrounds in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The district administration has launched an initiative to set up 100 playgrounds in the rural areas with the collaboration of the local population and private banks.

A statement issued here said that first such playground had been set up in Chamkani area of the provincial capital, which was inaugurated by deputy commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram on Thursday.

Malik Shahab Khan, a local notable had donated the land for the playground.

The statement said that the administration planned to set up 100 such playgrounds across the provincial capital.

It said that the initiative was aimed at promotion of sports and healthy activities among the youngsters.

DC Peshawar in his speech said that these playgrounds would provide children with the opportunities to hone their sporting skills.

He said the district administration appreciated the local community for the assistance they had extended to the administration in setting up this playground.
