SAHIWAL: On the complaint of citizens, Kameer police sealed a seminary and booked 18 people on charges of spreading blasphemous and hate material in Khayaban City of Kameer Town.

Police registered a case under sections 295 A and 295C of the PPC and sections 7 & 9, of the ATA on complaint of a citizen and arrested two suspects.

Police had received complaints of two citizens against the Markaz-i-Tehrik-i- Qurani Inqalbi. The investigators kept an eye on the seminary and came to know that it was established July 17, 2024.

Police found around 15 to 18 people regularly spreading hate material and blasphemous content in print and at online platforms.

Police raided the seminary, arrested two suspects and recovered hate material in the form of pamphlets, books and brochures.

Sources said both the suspects were presented before the court of ATC judge Ziaullah Khan who gave police five-day physical remand for the suspects.

Police sealed the seminary.
