QUETTA: Boys and girls of different schools on Wednesday took out a protest rally in the provincial capital against the kidnapping of a school student who police and other law-enforcement agencies failed to recover despite the passage of six days.

The students gathered at a point in the provincial capital and then marched through various roads and streets carrying placards and banners demanding immediate recovery of the kidnapped student. They also chanted slogans against the government.

They later joined the protesters staging the sit-in at the Unity Chowk of Zarghoon Road for the recovery of the kidnapped boy. The blockade of Zarghoon and other roads has caused massive traffic jams on all roads leading towards the main city and other areas of the provincial capital.

Long queues of buses, cars and other vehicles were witnessed on all roads. The schoolchildren who were appearing in their 8th Class board exams could not reach their examination centres in time and several of them missed their papers.
