RAWALPINDI: A summit in Rawalpindi on Saturday celebrated the achievements of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) while encouraging the next generation of students to pursue impactful careers in these fields.
Titled, “Trailblazing the STEM: A Journey of Leadership and Legacy”, the event was organised by the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) in collaboration with the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD).
A session, moderated by Prof Dr Saima Saleem, Secretary of OWSD, provided a platform for panellists to share their inspiring journeys, strategies for overcoming gender barriers, and insights into building successful careers.
An interactive exhibition wall spotlighted the legacies and contributions of influential women in STEM.
At the same time, outstanding students from the Departments of Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Software Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Sciences shared their journeys, inspiring peers with their achievements and aspirations.
A special summit highlight was a video presentation showcasing FJWU’s STEM faculty’s groundbreaking research, prestigious awards, and innovative teaching methods. The captivating visual segment underscored the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
The event celebrated leadership, legacy, and innovation, inspiring attendees to excel in STEM disciplines.
It also reaffirmed FJWU’s dedication to fostering innovation, diversity, and leadership, equipping students with the skills and confidence to pursue impactful careers.
