RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) on Sunday announced that all operations at airports across the country, including Islamabad International Airport were running smoothly and without disruption.

A spokesman for the PAA said that they categorically refute the baseless rumours regarding a 72-hour stay for international passengers at Islamabad International Airport. “This claim is completely false and misleading,” he said.

The PAA urges the public to rely only on trusted and official sources for information to avoid confusion.

On the other hand, Pakistan International Airlines cancelled its two domestic flights due to low load (lack of passengers) on Sunday.

A spokesman for PIA said that a flight PK-308 from Karachi to Islamabad and another flight (PK-369) from Islamabad to Karachi were cancelled due to lack of passengers who either cancelled their journey or were unable to reach the airport.

Another official at Islamabad International Airport said that PK-308 from Karachi to Islamabad was cancelled, while another flight PK-369 from Islamabad to Karachi was also cancelled due to lack of passengers.

He said that the passengers of PK-369 were accommodated on PK-309 that departed with 135 passengers for Karachi at about 7 pm on Sunday.

He further said that the airport activities remained normal throughout the day on Sunday.
