DERA MURAD JAMALI: Festivities turned into tragedy when two brothers of the groom along with another relative were gunned down on their way back from a wedding in the Jhal Magsi district of Nasirabad division, on Sunday.

Levies officials said both brothers were FC officials, leading the motorcade of the newly wed and other relatives to Quetta.

When the wedding party were close to the Patri area of Gandawah tehsil, some armed men sitting in a picket opened fire on them with automatic weapons. Both elder brothers of the groom as well as one of their relatives were killed on the spot.

Levies force rushed the bodies to district hospital where the victims were identified as Fida Hussian, Zakir Hussain, Babul Mohammad Hasni aka Masri. The attackers escaped before the arrival of law enforcement personnel.

While investigation was under way, Levies officials said the family of the victims blamed their ‘relatives’ for the armed attack.

‘Honour killing’

In the Chatar area of Nasirabad district, armed men killed their sister-in-law in the name of honour. Levies officials said two suspects, identified as Ayaz Shah and Aali Shah, opened fire on their sister-in-law, identified as Samina, on the spot while her friend Meral Shah sustained wounds. The body and the injured were shifted to Dera Murad Jamali hospital, while the shooters escaped.
