SWABI: Work on the construction of a road is likely to be launched soon as the district administration held a jirga here on Tuesday with the residents of Dewal Garhi and other areas to resolve land disputes that dogged the project.

For last several years, the project was stalled due to people’s objections and land disputes.

However, with the efforts of the district administration and the support of a local jirga, the hurdles in the way of the scheme were removed.

The jirga, which was held on the instructions of Swabi deputy commissioner Nasrullah Khan, was attended by additional assistant commissioner, Topi, Dr Usman Khan along with revenue staff, police and officers of the communication and works department.
