SUKKUR: A man was killed and a passerby was wounded when unidentified armed men ambushed a motorcyclist at Ahsan Larro (turning) on Magsi link road near Tangwani town, Kandhkot-Kashmore district, on Wednesday.

Sources said the armed men, believed to be members of Banglani clan, sprayed Mansab Choliyani with bullets and escaped while firing into the air.

The area police and relatives of bereaved family shifted the body and the injured to civil hospital where doctors pronounced the victim dead upon arrival.

The wounded passerby, who was identified as Ali Hassan Ghunio, was referred to a major hospital in Sukkur district due to his precarious condition.

The dead body was later handed over to heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.

The sources said the targeted murder was an offshoot of an ongoing dispute between Banglani and Choliyani communities whose members had taken up positions against each other in their villages in the wake of the incident.
