ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: The capital police have registered a dozen cases against the PTI leaders, including its founder Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, whereas three new cases against the PTI leadership were also registered in Rawalpindi city.

According to the Islamabad police, two cases were registered at the Secretariat police station, while one case was registered at Shahzad Town, Sihala, Khanna, Margalla, Karachi Company, Noon, Nilore, Tarnol, Shams Colony, and Banigala police stations. The Secretariat police registered one case on Nov 24 and another on 26th.

One of the cases was registered under sections 7 and 11(X) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, sections 506-ii, 440, 395, 353, 341, 188, 186, 148, 149, 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and Section 8 of the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order (PAPO) Act against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Amir Mughal, Sabir Wahid, and 150 unidentified persons. The second case registered by the Secretariat police also implicated Imran Khan along with 200 unidentified suspects. Besides anti-terrorism law, the FIR contained provisions of the PPC. The Karachi Company police booked Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, the KP CM, Omar Ayub, and others on charges ranging from terrorism to the PAPO Act.

The Tarnol police registered a case under sections 7 and 11 (X) of the Anti-Terrorism Act and Section 8 of the PAPO Act, along with several sections of the PPC. The FIR named Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Salman Akram Raja, Sheikh Waqas, and Mohammad Ali Bukhari, among others.

The Margalla police registered a case under sections 7 and 11 (X) of the ATA, sections 188, 341, 395, 506ii, 440, 353, 186, 148, 149, 109 of the PPC, and Section 8 of the PAPO Act against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and Ali Amin Gandapur, among others.

Three FIRs lodged in Rawalpindi as over 1100 rounded up in the division; four cases registered in Attock district

The Noon police registered a case under Section 7 of the ATA, sections 148, 149, 186, 342, and 353 of the PPC, and Section 8 of the PAPO Act against Amir Mughal, Chaudhry Jhangir, Malik Baber, Touqeer Shah, Naeem Awan, and 250 unidentified persons.

The Nilore police registered a case under sections 342, 506ii, 148, 149, 353, 186, 188 of the PPC and Section 8 of the PAPO Act against Khyber Quyyum, Kamran Kiani, Amir Rasheed, Haji Wahid, Amir Khan, Fukhar Munir, and 350 unidentified persons.

The Tranol police registered a case under sections 353, 186, 341, 188, 148, 149, 506ii, 385, and 109 of the PPC and Section 8 of the PAPO Act against Hakeem Khan, Sardar Noman, Rafi Afridi, Irfan Kaka, Raja Khalid, Saeed Khan, Rehan Nisar, Arsalan, and 300 unidentified persons.

The Shams Colony police registered a case under Section 7 of the ATA, sections 353, 342, 186, 149, and 148 of the PPC, and Section 8 of the PAPO Act against 450 unidentified persons.

The other case was registered at Banigala police station under Section 7 of the ATA, Section 8 of the PAPO Act, and sections 353, 186, 506ii, 341, 114, 148, and 149 of PPC against Rizwan Nagyal, Talib Hussain, and 380 unidentified persons.

The Sihala police registered the case under Section 7 of the ATA, Section 8 of the PAPO Act, and sections 353, 506ii, 342, 186, 148, and 149 of the PPC against two nominated and 325 unidentified persons.

The Shahzad Town police registered a case under Section 7 of the ATA, Section 8 of the POPA Act, and sections 342, 148, 149, 353, and 186 of the PPC against 400 unidentified persons.

Separately, three more FIRs were registered with the Naseerabad, Sadiqabad, and New Town police stations in Rawalpindi against the PTI leaders on charges ranging from terrorism to attempted murder, besides other sections of the law. The Attock police registered four cases: two at Hazro, one at Attock Khurd, and one at the Wah Saddar police station.

1150 detained in Rawalpindi division

More than 1150 violent protesters, including 62 Afghan nationals, were arrested as 32 cases were registered against them in the Rawalpindi division, and almost 170 police personnel sustained injuries during the violent protest by the PTI.

Only the official media was invited to the presser.

It was revealed by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa during a joint press conference with Rawalpindi City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani and Attock District Police Officer Sadar Ghiyas Gul at the Police Lines Headquarters on Thursday. The police officials said a total of 262 police personnel had been injured during the PTI protests during the last three months.

RPO Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa, along with CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani and DPO Attock Sardar Ghiyas Gul, shared the details of the protest and said that the violent protesters attacked the police with firearms. As a result, 170 police officials of the Rawalpindi region were injured, of which two sustained bullet injuries, they said, adding that 25 of the injured officers and officials were in critical condition.

The police officials told media persons that the protesters also damaged 11 official police vehicles and set fire to various places on the highway. They said restraint was shown by the Rawalpindi Region police, due to which no incident of injury to any of the protesters was reported.

The RPO said that 64 Afghan nationals were also included among the arrested persons, out of which 60 immigrants did not have documentation.

CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani said that the violent protesters who came via the Hakla Interchange fired directly and hurled stones at the policemen. The violent protesters also attempted to kill the policemen by crashing a vehicle, the media persons were informed. Constable Muhammad Mubasher Bilal was martyred, and 24 police officers were injured due to violence.

DPO Attock Sardar Ghiyas Gul said on November 25, the violent protesters fired at the police from both sides near Pathargarh.

A bullet passed through the hand of Constable Wajid Ali from Faisalabad and hit his neck, the DPO said, adding that Constable Samiullah of Sargodha was shot in the leg. The police showed restraint in order to save human lives due to which none of the protestors were injured, the DPO said.

Separately, the Attock district police said almost 220 PTI supporters were rounded up in Attock and Wah Saddar after the operation, and all of them hail from KP.
