LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday expressed serious concern over reports about felling trees in the provincial metropolis for the construction of depots for electric buses and ordered an investigation into the matter.
During a smog-related hearing, a member of a court-made environmental commission revealed that trees were cut down in Lahore to construct depots for e-buses.
Justice Shahid Karim expressed concern over the matter and remarked that there should be an investigation into where the felled trees were taken.
He observed that if the claim of tree felling proved true, legal action would be taken against those responsible for the act.
