TAXILA: Police on Friday arrested two car lifters and recovered two stolen Suzuki vans from their possession.

The police spokesman said that a team of Taxila police led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Kashif raided the hideout of the vehicle lifters and recovered two stolen vehicles from their possession which were stolen from different parts of the district.

The spokesman further added that the suspects identified as Kashif and Shoaib during preliminary interrogation confessed to having been involved in various vehicle lifting activities.

Man held for extortion

Police on have arrested a suspect for extorting money from a local citizen in the limits of Wah Saddar police station.

According to the police, Saad and his accomplices had threatened to kill the citizen if he didn’t pay the money and extorted Rs65,000 from him at gunpoint. The police spokesman said that the victim had approached the police and a case was registered against Saad for hurling life threats and demanding money.
