RAWALPINDI: A number of women lost their mobile phones and cash in Rawalpindi, police said.

Ghazala Shabnam, one of the victims, complained to New Town police station that she was crossing the road in Commercial Market Satellite Town when two motorcyclists appeared on the scene and snatched her purse which contained Rs50,000 and a mobile phone and sped off.

Asma Shaheen told Sadiqabad police that she was going to Commercial Market with her daughters when an unknown motorcycle rider snatched her purse which contained Rs12,000, a mobile phone and an ATM card.

Sobia Nazir, a resident of Naseerabad. said that she was heading to Military Hospital in a rickshaw when the driver, after covering a small distance, held her at gunpoint and snatched Rs45,000 and a mobile phone from her.

Khalida Parveen said her mobile phone was stolen by an unidentified thief in the Civil Lines police area.

Similarly, Urooj was walking on Banaras Road when two youngsters came from behind on a motorcycle and took away her purse which contained cash and her mobile phone.
