PESHAWAR: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi presented the community leadership award to a young graduate, Mohammad Karim, at an event held at the Governor House here the other day.

The event, titled Future Youth Conference, was attended by members of youth activist groups and others. During the conference, the governor emphasised the importance of youth taking creative initiatives to contribute to the welfare of their peers. He urged them to play an active role in bringing about positive change in society.

Mohammad Karim, head of a non-profit organisation, stated while speaking to the journalist that his award was a tribute to all the young individuals who had supported the mission “Give me books, not guns”since the NGO’s founding four years ago.

Mr Karim explained that the circle had evolved into a monthly, volunteer-driven platform, hosting discussions on 45 books chosen through community polls. He added that it brought together people from diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas, foster critical thinking, and nurture a love for reading. He stressed that youth should come up with innovative ideas for shaping out the society and should use their talent for a positive change among young people towards building a just and pluralistic society.

Mohammad Karim emphasised that young people should utilise their creativity to shape society and apply their skills to help others bring about positive change, ultimately creating a pluralistic and just society.
