Oil leakage near Seaview plugged

KARACHI: A leakage occurred in a pipeline of the Pak Arab Refinery Limited (Parco) near Seaview was plugged on Sunday, officials said.

DIG-South Syed Asad Raza said the leakage took place in the Parco refinery pipeline in the Defence area near Seaview at around 6am.

Reports said the spilled ‘furnace oil’ affected a road and entered a nearby residential locality.

The authorities concerned were informed about the incident and soon after the oil pumping was halted and the affected service road was sealed off.

Experts and workmen arrived at the leakage site and repaired the line at around 8am, they added.
