KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) remains dedicated to pioneering technological advancements, promoting sustainability, and fostering inclusivity, while continuing to serve as a catalyst for Pakistan’s growth and global prominence, State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jameel Ahmad has said.

Speaking at NBP’s diamond jubilee celebrations, held the other day at Mohatta Palace, the central bank governor acknowledged that the bank’s 75-year journey was not only a celebration of past triumphs but a resolute pledge to the future, according to a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, NBP President Rehmat Ali Hasnie reflected on the institution’s evolution over the past seven decades.

He emphasised the bank’s “central role” in facilitating transformative government initiatives, promoting financial inclusion, and spearheading the digital revolution within Pakistan’s banking sector, according to the statement.

The event was attended by government officials, representatives of the business community, and NBP customers from across the country.

The event also included an interactive exhibition to showcase NBP’s history, legacy and initiatives for sustainability, digital banking, and financial empowerment, the press release added.
