LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will monitor sugar mills during the crushing season to prevent tax evasion.
According to the FIA Lahore, special teams have been formed on the directive of the prime minister.
“The FIA teams will record sugar production and stock, daily sales of mills to prevent tax evasion,” says a spokesperson.
It said the record of sugarcane arrival and the number of trolleys in mills would be maintained. FIA’s Lahore Director Sarfraz Khan assigned tasks to teams during a meeting on Monday.
“All teams must compile data with utmost responsibility and honesty,” Sarfraz Khan said and added that preventing tax evasion was a vital national duty, and negligence would not be tolerated.
