RAWALPINDI: As Punjab government plans to announce winter vacation in the month of December due to smog and cold weather, the Private Schools Association has opposing it, calling on the relevant authorities to reconsider their decision.

A senior official of the District Education Authority said the government wanted to start winter vacations due to smog and cold weather in many parts of the province especially in Potohar region and Murree.

All Pakistan Private School Association North Punjab President Abrar Ahmed Khan, on the other hand, believes that since the current academic session in the province had been badly affected by long summer vacations, smog and protests, the decision to announce 23 days winter vacation will not be appropriate.

He suggested Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan to reduced holidays from January 1 to 10th.
