LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee-I (PAC-1) has sought recovery of power bills pending since 2021 against Multan’s Nishtar Hospital canteen and residential quarters, besides action against the officials failing to recover the dues.

A meeting of the PAC-I held here on Tuesday, with opposition leader Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar in the chair, expressed its displeasure at the fact that a sum of Rs26.5 million is pending as power bills against the hospital canteen and some residences since 2021 as the health department has failed to recover the amount from the defaulters.

Seeking an immediate probe into the slackness in the recovery of dues, the committee ordered immediate recovery of the amount and action against the officials responsible for the negligence.
