CHARSADDA: Bacha Khan University Vice-Chancellor Prof Zahid Hussain has said youth should actively participate in welfare activities.

Addressing a seminar organised by the department of sociology and Sadat Foundation here on Tuesday, he said serving the suffering humanity, including orphans, was pure worship.

Mr Hussain said extending support to the poor and orphaned children was a sacred job.

He said youth should participate in welfare activities and play their role in the development of the country. He said such seminars should be organised at the university level to instill a spirit of service to the society among youth.

The VC also presented special shields to orphaned girls under the care of Sadat Foundation.

SPORTS: The ICMS College’s Charsadda campus won the inter-college cricket tournament organised by district sports office at Prang Cricket Stadium. Teams of five government and five private colleges participated.

Nafeesullah, president of private schools’ association, Charsadda, presented the trophy and prizes to the winning team.
