LOWER DIR: The district administration was urged by the Lower Dir Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide state land for the construction of the chamber’s office at Timergara.

The demand was made by the chamber’s president, Shuib Jan, senior vice president, Inayat Khan, and group leader, Noor Alam Bacha, during a meeting with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Arif Khan at his office.

The chamber’s leaders also called for practical steps to establish small industries in the area.

They stated that setting up small industries would boost the local economy, increase revenue generation, and provide job opportunities for local youth.

They stated that the government should also take measures to promote domestic industries.

The DC assured that the administration would fully support the local chamber in resolving its issues.

LPG POINTS SEALED: The local administration sealed several unregistered LPG distribution points in Timergara. Assistant Commissioner Zaid Safi visited various spots and sealed multiple LPG distribution points for operating without valid documents.

The official also seized the computerised national identity cards (CNICs) of the distributors.

The assistant commissioner inspected the prices and gauges of petrol and diesel at various filling stations in the city.

He also collected the CNICs of owners who lacked Form K, legal documents, or fire extinguishers.

KILLER ARRESTED: The Talash police arrested a suspect, identified as Iqrar, for allegedly shooting and killing his uncle. According to a police official, the accused had killed his uncle, Asfandiar, a resident of Khadang village, over a petty dispute.

He further stated that the accused, after going into hiding, was apprehended by a police team, which also recovered the weapon used in the crime.

Further investigation is underway, the official added.
