MUZAFFARGARH: A local textile mill reportedly fired hundreds of workers but did not clear their last two-month salary.

According to workers -- Ghulam Qambar, Sajjad Hussain and others -- the mill administration suddenly fired hundreds of workers already suffering from financial hardship due to denial of two-month salary.

They said the mill administration was now forcing them to vacate quarters by shutting down water and power supplies.

They met DC Quratul Ain on Dec 1 who ordered AC Irfan Hinjra to address the issue.

TORTURE: Seitpur police have registered a case against a man who tortured his elderly father.

The case has been registered under the Parents Protection Act.

Accused Khalilur Rehman has been arrested by the police.
