BAHAWALPUR: Sammsatta police on Wednesday registered a first information report (FIR) against unidentified killer(s) of a couple and their three children at their Model Avenue house here on Tuesday.
The FIR No 874/24 was registered under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of Muhammad Khurram, brother of the deceased, Muhammad Kashif.
Meanwhile, the postmortem examination of the five victims was conducted at a Sammsatta hospital after which the bodies were handed over to Khurram, who took them to their native town of Ahmedpur East for burial.
According to doctors, Kashif and his wife Arooj Khan were shot in the head, while their two sons -- Jahanzeb Khan (15) and Abdullah Khan (13) -- in their bodies. The youngest victim, Abdul Wahab (9), was strangled to death, according to the doctors.
As per the police, Kashif had a petrol pump in Ahmedpur East and was also running a pesticides business.
Investigation Officer Sub Inspector Imanullah Khan says the samples from the victims’ bodies have been sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory in Lahore for analysis.
He says the matter will be investigated from all angles and culprits will be arrested as soon as possible.
