MIANWALI: A two-day book fair organised by Halqa-i-Adab Library, Kamar Mushani, and Rescue 1122 in collaboration with the National Book Foundation, concluded in Qamar-Mushani, 55km from here in Isakhel tehsil of the district.

Held at the Rescue 1122 office, the fair drew an enthusiastic response from the community, including students, teachers, and book lovers from all walks of life.

The event was inaugurated by Murad Ali Mohmand, managing director of the National Book Foundation, alongside Shoaib Raza, Deputy Director Development, Mianwali.

The fair featured a wide range of books, including literary works, educational materials, and children’s literature, with publishers reporting a remarkable turnout and enthusiastic readership.In addition to book stalls, the event hosted an art exhibition showcasing calligraphy, paintings and pencil sketches, a Mushaira.

Speaking on the occasion, Murad Ali Mohmand lauded the efforts of Halqa-e-Adab Library and Rescue 1122.Publishers in attendance commended the organisers, describing the fair as a monumental step in promoting reading culture in the region.

Engineer Naveed Iqbal, District Emergency Officer, Rescue 1122, emphasized the importance of fostering intellectual growth and cultural activities alongside routine emergency services.

The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed Goraya, who visited along with the Assistant Commissioner of Isakhel and the CEO Education, Mianwali.
