SARGODHA: A young man died after suffering severe burns in a fire erupting in a room used as cattle pen, resulting in collapse of its roof in the city suburbs.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, the fire broke out in a cattle pen in Lalazar Town on Sargodha-Lahore Road, allegedly due to a short circuit, causing the roof of the room to collapse.

As a result, one Asif, who was asleep in the pen, suffered critical burns. There was no cattle in the room when the fire erupted, the sources said. On being informed of the incident, Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the spot and controlledthe fire.

The body was handed over to the victim’s family after the postmortem examination.

WOMAN INJURED: The legs of a female pedestrian got fractured after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing the motorway (M-2) near Bhera Interchange.

She was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Bhera, in a critical condition. Police are investigating into the incident.
