RAWALPINDI: The three-day food festival started at Ayub National Park to promote the food industry and work of women entrepreneurs in the region.
Over 70 diverse food stalls have been set up, showcasing both traditional and innovative cuisines. Women entrepreneurs in the food industry are also being given a spotlight to launch and promote their brands.
The food fest will run for three days, bringing together culinary enthusiasts, families and business leaders to celebrate the region’s rich food culture and entrepreneurial spirit.
Commissioner Amir Khattak inaugurated the food festival. Ambassadors from Morocco, South Korea and Yemen and local shopkeepers participated in the event.
Mr Khattak lauded the efforts of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
RCCI President Usman Shaukat said the traders wanted to promote traditional and regional cuisines, introduce new flavours and support entrepreneurs in developing SMEs.
Incharge of festival Bilal Maqbool said that they had also organised a musical evening and a children carnival to ensure a wholesome and enjoyable experience for families attending the festival.
