TAXILA: Six persons, including a man and his son, were shot dead in separate incidents in Wah and Attock, police and hospital sources said on Friday.

In the first incident, three persons among them a man and his son were shot dead near Khunda Chowk in the limits of Jand police. Police sources said Hikmat Khan, a van driver, exchanged harsh words with Shahbaz Ahmed over a petty dispute and slapped him.

Later, Shahbaz along with his two companions came to the spot and shot dead Hikmat Khan and his son Khadim Hussein. One of the attackers also received a bullet injury and died on the spot.

Separately, a man was shot dead while his brother was injured critically as rivals attacked them over a land dispute in Dhoke Dhall in Domail town in the limits of the same police station. Ashraf and Lal Khan had a dispute over a piece of land. On Thursday, when both parties had gathered for demarcation of land, after exchange of hot words, Lal Khan along with five other persons attacked rivals with guns resultantly Sajjad was killed on the spot while Ashraf was injured critically.

Meanwhile, a former official of Afghan police was shot dead near Awan Chowk in Wah. Hamid Khan was sitting in a shop when Fawad along with Feroz came there on a motorcycle and shot him dead. Police while quoting Jehan Zaib, nephew of the victim, said Hamid while serving in the Afghan police had arrested Fawad in a theft case. Fawad was recently released after he completed his term.

In another incident, a man who was on bail in a murder case, was shot dead allegedly by his rivals on GT Road near Nawababad in the limits of the same police station. Police sources said Mohammad Shamsher was arrested in a murder case of Mohammad Arif and later released on bail. When he along with his son and wife was going to court to appear in the case, Nabil Ahmed along with his two accomplices intercepted them and shot him dead.
