ISLAMABAD: While events in connection with Christmas have started in the federal capital, Full Gospel Assembly Church held its first event which was attended by a large number of people belonging to various walks of life.

Additional Secretary Ministry of Inter-provincial Coordination Zahoor Ahmed was the chief guest on the occasion. Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Director General Saeed Ahmed Sheikh also attended the event.

Zahoor Ahmed, while speaking to participants, said as a Pakistani, it was an obligation of every person to participate in the festivals of other communities.

“This is how religious tolerance can be increased and society can become more diverse,” he said.

Fazal Bibi Welfare Trust Chairman Joseph Gill, who was the host, hoped that Christmas would bring peace of mind for the Christian community and also prayed for the country. He thanked Pastor of Church Salamat Gill for allowing the event.

A cake was cut and cheques distributed among the needy so that they could also make arrangements to celebrate Christmas.
