MUZAFFARGARH: Seven people have been booked in Muzaffargarh for allegedly spreading hateful content on social media, threatening police personnel, and interfering in government activities.
According to the first information report (FIR), the suspects chanted slogans against the government and attacked a police team when officers attempted to stop and question them. Those named in the case include Mohammad Basit, Mohammad Usama, Mohammad Shoukat, Mohammad Bilal, Mohammad Imran, Ghulam Akbar and Ali Shan.
The case, registered at the city police station, includes charges under sections 209, 291, 505, 506, 148, 149, 353, and 186. Police stated they were actively working to arrest the suspects.
However, locals have disputed the police’s version, claiming the case is fabricated and that no such incident occurred. They also alleged that the police have been targeting Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) supporters in the area.
On the same day, PTI MNA Dr Shabbir Qureshi and three associates were also booked under similar charges in Daira Din Pannah Police Station in Kot Addu district.
