SAHIWAL: A member of a drug-selling family shot and killed a man in the residential colony of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital on Monday.

Farid Town police arrested alleged shooter Rabia and her brother, Fida Rasool, in a murder case.

Sub-Inspector Shahid told Dawn that eyewitnesses reported that Rabia and her brother were regularly selling drugs in the hospital and surrounding areas.

Reports said Fazal Hussain (34), of village 5/11-L, was a friend of Fida. Fazal not only sold drugs but also used them at Fida’s house in the colony. Rabia objected to her brother and Fazal using drugs on the premises. A heated argument ensued between Rabia, Fida and Fazal over unpaid drug money. During the quarrel, Rabia shot Fazal.

The police shifted the body to Sahiwal Teaching Hospital for an autopsy. Questions remain over why the high-ups and local administration at the hospital have been silent about the abuse of hospital premises for such activities.
