PESHAWAR: The Peshawar district administration has decided to ban the entry of tractors and trucks on the University Road from 7am to 10pm to ease traffic congestion on this main artery.

A statement issued here said that the decision was made during a meeting chaired by Peshawar division commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud.

It said that the meeting also decided to remove encroachments from both sides of the road in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic on this route. Besides, it was also decided to deploy additional traffic police personnel and ban illegal transport on the road.

In addition to this, the meeting also decided to use all available means to ease traffic congestion on this thoroughfare.

The commissioner Peshawar division directed the officials concerned to make serious efforts to make travel on the University Road hassle-free for motorists. He also directed the officials to remove all the impediments choking traffic on University Road.
