PESHAWAR: Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in collaboration with the commissioner’s office hosted an event titled ‘zero tolerance for corruption’ here on Tuesday.
Mattani assistant commissioner Ayesha Tahir was the chief guest.
Mehwish Gul, deputy director National Accountability Bureau, was also in attendance, according to a statement issued here.
The event aimed at raising awareness regarding the critical issue of corruption prevailing in the society.
A two-kilometre marathon race was also organised followed by an awareness walk.
The students of various departments of the university designed different creative posters to highlight the event’s theme and the importance of spreading awareness against the menace.
The students also delivered inspiring speeches.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayesha Tahir highlighted the significance of maintaining integrity and transparency, mentioning corruption as a chronic disease that undermined society. She urged students to take it as a moral responsibility to play their role in eliminating the curse from the society. She also encouraged the students to remain focused and opt for impactful careers to ensure they got a chance to be a part of promoting a corruption-free society.
