SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Three people were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a moving vehicle in the Birmal tehsil of Lower South Waziristan district on Tuesday.

District police officer Asif Bahadar confirmed the incident and said that the attackers riding a car opened fire on a moving vehicle in the limits of Raghzai police station and escaped. As a result, three people were killed. They were identified as Noor Khaliq, Raziq and Sher Rehman, all hailing from Wazir Gangikhel tribe.

Mr Bahadar said that the reason behind the killing was not yet known, but the police had registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
