GUJRAT: Thieves took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs43.8 million from a house in DC Colony locality of Gujranwala Cantonment police precincts on Monday night.

Reports said the suspects wearing helmets to conceal their identity barged in the house of Anwar Sandhu, whose family had gone to attend a wedding, and made off with 195-tola gold ornaments and Rs3.8m in cash.

Police have registered a case and started investigation.BAIL: A former federal minister and a PTI leader Mehdi Hassan Bhatti has been granted bail before arrest in a graft case lodged against him with the Hafizabad Anti-Corporation Establishment circle.

The court granted him bail before arrest until Dec 19.

Meanwhile, Gujranwala anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday sent 13 PTI workers to the district jail on judicial remand.

The workers were produced before the court after completion of their physical remand and the police again sought extension in their physical remand but the court ordered to send them to jail on judicial remand.

Tatley Aali police had lodged a case against PTI workers and former lawmakers in connection with the Nov 24 protests. Later, at least 13 workers were arrested who had earlier been handed over to the police on physical remand.
