NAROWAL: The additional district sessions court judge of Shakargarh sentenced on Tuesday three brothers to death for killing two siblings over a petty dispute.

The verdict was announced after a three-year trial in a case that drew public attention due to its tragic nature.

The incident occurred on Aug 19, 2021, when Ishtiaq Khan, of Sultanpur Afghanan village in Shakargarh, reported to the police that his two young sons, 10-year-old Shaheer Khan and 17-year-old Shahroz Khan, were shot dead by their neighbours.

According to Ishtiaq, his sons left home for shopping but were attacked by Javed Khan, his wife Alia and their sons, Imran Khan, Irfan Khan and Ali Khan.

The dispute allegedly arose after the deceased Shahroz Khan forbade the accused from tying a donkey in the street.

On Ishtiaq’s complaint, the Noorkot police registered an FIR under sections 302, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Additional Sessions Judge Amir Mukhtar Gondal handed down the death penalty twice to Imran Khan, Irfan Khan and Ali Khan and imposed a fine of Rs2 million per person. Failure to pay the fine would result in an additional six months of imprisonment for each convict.

However, Javed Khan and his wife Alia Javed were acquitted due to insufficient evidence against them.

Following the sentencing, the three convicts were transferred from Shakargarh to Narowal District Jail under tight security.

RAPE: Police in Sialkot have registered a case against a man accused of sexually assaulting his daughter.

According to the police, a woman of Pasrur lodged a complaint stating that her 23-year-old niece disclosed the crime. She alleged that her father forcibly took her to a room in their house and raped her.

The suspect reportedly threatened to kill his daughter if she disclosed the incident.

The FIR was registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code at Pasrur police station. Upon learning of the FIR, the suspect absconded. Police investigation teams have launched efforts to locate and arrest him.
