KARACHI: A fire that erupted at the head office of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) destroyed three records storage rooms on Tuesday evening, rescue officials said. No one was hurt in the fire, they added.

A Rescue-1122 official told Dawn that the fire erupted in the water board office on main Sharea Faisal near Awami Markaz.

The official said two fire tenders were sent to put out the blaze. He said that the cooling work was completed by night.

He said the fire had erupted at their record-keeping rooms. Three rooms were completely destroyed.

The staff present there told the firemen that a short circuit had triggered the blaze.

However, the rescue official said they were probing the exact cause of the fire.
